FeiHua: Celebrating Filipino-Chinese Identity

WHAT: FeiHua Art Exhibit
WHERE: The Art Bank at the Baguio Athletic Bowl Sports Office
WHEN: Exhibit will run until June 24, 2023

To celebrate this year\’s Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day (June 9th), there was an intimate gathering at the Fil-Chi Friendship Park in the Botanical Garden last June 10th, Saturday.

In attendance were city officials led by the Baguio City Mayor, Benjie Magalong and the Consul of the Consulate of the People\’s Republic of China in Laoag City, Consul Sun Weidong.

As part of the event, members of the city council and Baguio City Mayor sat down for a live portrait sketching from local artists.

The event was hosted by the members of the Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community EXECOM and their current Chairman, Mr Peter Ng.

To further celebrate the Filipino-Chinese Friendship, Fil-Chi artists launched the art exhibit, FEIHUA: Celebrating Filipino-Chinese Identity, featuring art works created by artists Norman Chow (✝ 1954-2018), Roland Bay-an, George Lee and Chino Chow, displayed at the Art Bank.

The art exhibit will run until June 24, 2023, the Art Bank is open from 8AM to 3PM and is located in the Baguio Athletic Bowl Sports Office.

To further show support and give back to the community, a check for ₱50,000 was donated to the Art Bank by the Baguio Filipino-Chinese Community, presented by Filipino-Chinese Community EXECOM Chairman, Mr Peter Ng and received by Art Bank Manager, Councilor Leandro Yangot, to be used for future Art Bank projects and improvements.
