The 3rd North Hobby Expo is currently happening and runs from November 18-20 at the Baguio Country Club Cordillera Convention Hall.

The three day event features:

– Air soft practical shooting

– COSPLAY
– Live performances by your favorite JRock bands and solo artists

It\’s A\’s Happy Place

You probably don\’t know this yet, but I am obsessed like comics, games and in a different life, I\’d have the biggest/rarest comic book collection and I\’d have the most amazing collection of action figures and I play games for a living…

But in this lifetime, I had kids instead.😂

I\’m not saying I\’d trade them, but I\’d be lying if I said it didn\’t cross my mind. JUST KIDDING. Or am I?😅

No, but seriously, I love going to hobby expos and feeling like I\’m living vicariously through the lives of these comic book/action figure collectors, and if we had Comic-Con here, you can bet your ass I\’d be there.

I was too geeked out to realize I should have taken photos with the displays, but no, I was too busy being in awe at how massive these collections are and how expensive a hobby being a collector can be.

I took my sweet, sweet time gawking looking at the super impressive DC action figures in a display case, nudging and excitedly telling \”O\” to look because this person had a collection of Batman action figures and I even spotted Colin Farrell\’s The Penguin!

There was Damian Wayne as Robin, Dick Grayson as Nightwing with his blue costume and then his red one, I\’m not even going to try to explain why his symbol changed from blue to red… He used blue to distance himself from Batman because he had issues and wanted to get out of his shadow but then later on he changed it to red as a symbol of reconciliation with his mentor (Batman) because red is a nod to the \”Bat Family\” as most of the members have had red in their costume in some way, if you don\’t believe me, you can always google it.😁

Then, Chino told me that the display case I was fascinated with is Riley\’s and damn, I was super jealous impressed! That collection is amazing! That\’s why you don\’t have kids.😂

I also saw Genshin Impact characters scattered among different display cases, there\’s one that looks like it was made out of paper, but it\’s not the one dimensional paper doll we see often, it looked so much more complicated than that, it was so cool, definitely took a lot of time to assemble, I wouldn\’t mind a hobby like that, actually.

I loved how cute the Funko Pop versions of the characters from Game of Thrones, somehow it makes the franchise seem less gruesome than it truly is.

Then I found this booth where they sold stickers and of course you know I had to get my hands on some, who\’d have thought stickers could cost so much?😅 But I guess if they\’re waterproof and can go on your car, it\’s worth it.

You get 5 stickers for ₱100 or ₱25 per sticker. I got Aether and Lumine from Genshin Impact of course, and I also got Paimon, what are the twins without Paimon? I also got Kaeya and \”O\” got Jose Marie Chan wearing a Santa hat.😂

I also got the Spider-man stickers, 3 in a pack cost like ₱50 so I got Tom Holland\’s, Tobey McGuire\’s and Andrew Garfield\’s Spider-man from No Way Home.

I spotted the We Bare Bears, so I got that in a 3 pack as well, we love the bears but especially \”O\” and \”B\” who spent every morning watching it on cable, we have Netflix but they watched that on cable because at the time, it was on around 7AM and they were the only ones awake that early.😂

Coincidentally, not, I was wearing my Star Wars sweater, of course you know I have to take a photo by the Star Wars display case.😅

There were other display cases with like cars and everything but I stuck to the action figures, only because that\’s more interesting to me, \”O\” spent some time on the cars, planes, war ships and tanks and other display cases though.

I seriously thought it was a shame \”O\” didn\’t participate, he has a wide collection of beetles (Volkswagen beetles) he started collecting like 16 years or so ago, and he said that one of the best pieces in his collection was the one I gave him, a lamp with an old beetle on it, there\’s only like a few of those! Even if you google it, you won\’t find it anymore because it\’s super rare, I found that in the back of a vintage store in a mall in Manila way back when he first started his collection, cost me an arm and a leg but hey, his reaction was priceless.😅
